First Image of Angelina Jolie in Maleficent
Cartoon version of Maleficent
Disney have just sent us the first image of Angelina Jolie in Malelicent. Ange plays the title role and there’s no sign of her left leg whatsoever. The only detail we can see is that the costume and aesthetics will mirror the cartoon version. Set for a US release of 14th March 2014, Disney announced that today was the first day of shooting. The film is being directed by two-time Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”).
Starring alongside Angelina Jolie in the film are Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.
This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.
Being filmed in 3D, “Maleficent” also has a whole crew of award winning behind the camera talent so we can expect a stunning visual feast from this film.
