The Hunger Games Sequel entitled Catching Fire has confirmed another name to it’s cast. Amanda Plummer, whose previous films include Pulp Fiction and So I Married an Axe Murderer, has signed on to play Wiress.
The character of Wiress is a former victor of the Hunger Games who communicates in cryptic utterances and goes around saying “tick tock” over and over. She’s also given the descriptive name of Nuts.
Amanda Plummer joins Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Willow Shields, Liam Hemsworth, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Donald Sutherland in the Francis Lawrence directed sequel.
More rumours are surfacing about three more tributes being lined up as Variety reports Sam Claflin being considered for Finnick Odair, 52 years young Melissa Leo to play the geriatric Mags and Tony Shalhoub as Beetee. These havn’t been confirmed by the production as yet.
Filming for Catching Fire will commence in September 2013 and while it’s filming, Lionsgate want to go into preproduction for the final two films, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II which have released dates for 2014 and 2015 respectively. So it looks like there’ll be a new director on board for the finale.
