Gangster Squad Starring Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone – 8 Clips and Featurettes

Looking for something to watch this weekend? Gangster squad, directed bu Rubem Fleischer is hitting cinemas in the UK today. Featuring an all star cast led by Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, and Sean Penn who are joined by Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Peña, Nick Nolte, and Robert Patrick.

The film’s release was pushed back by Warner Bros. after the tragic shooting at a screening of The Dark Knight. The producers decided to change a scene they felt was too close to real events.

“Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.”

Director Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) makes his first non comedy feature directing a script by Will Beall. Gangster Squad is based on a book by Paul Lieberman.
