The Amazings’ website is a wonderful idea based around the fact that we’ve forgotten all that wisdom that our elders hold. In an age where a lot of youngsters lack respect for their elders and the skillz (-sic) they have, this website allows people to learn crafts and skills such as pottery, pattern cutting and cooking.
The Amazings is based on the idea that societies have always learned from their elders. Based in London, it’s clear they feel that the connection between generations has been lost and so too have the traditional skills that we all secretly long to be able to do.
If you want to be considered as one of The Amazing teachers, you need to be over 50 and be able to talk to people to explain what you do. Perfect if you’re looking to supplement your pension and depart some of your wisdom…
Most of The Amazings’ classes are based in London at the moment but if you think it’s a good idea and you don’t live nearby, you can nominate your city too.
